Finding The Best Flight To Las Vegas

If you are not within driving distance, the time to start pricing flights is now. I recommend booking your flight first, since it is often the most expensive piece to the puzzle.  If you have a favorite airline you fly with everywhere, you are already one step ahead, but for those that have never flown or want to find the best deal let’s continue. Almost always the cheapest flight is going to be booking direct with the airline. Third party sites like Expedia usually add a bit more to the price, but they are a great resource to help you find a cheaper flight. Other sites like Costco travel if you happen to be a member can also be a resource to find package deals, but always double check if booking separately is cheaper before you commit. Flight prices seem to fluctuate  by time of the trip you are shopping. Too far out the prices will be higher. Too close to your flight, there will be fewer seats available, thus the prices will also be higher. Decide on the days of the week you want to spend in Las Vegas, knowing that hotel rates will be cheaper on weekdays, but this choice is completely up to you. There are benefits of going on the weekend as well, especially if you want to go clubs and things like that. Once you choose the days of the week you want to visit. Start pricing flights one, two, three months out on those days, possibly all the way up until six months out so you can get an idea on how far in advance the airline you are looking at has the best rates. As I mentioned before the third party sites can be used to price multiple airlines at once and get you an idea on the price. If you see one in your budget you’d like to consider, then go price it directly with the airline’s website. Also be aware that there are budget airlines that don’t offer the amenities that others do. This will likely be reflected in the price. So if you want to watch a movie on your flight or have a seat that doesn’t feel like you are sitting for hours on a piece of 2x4. Research your airlines carefully. Sometimes paying a bit more is worth it for the comfort depending on the length of your flight.
