Las Vegas RTC Adding Security To Bus Routes

One of the most prominent complaints that comes up over the Regional Transport Commission (RTC), the government organization responsible for "The Deuce" and other bus routes throughout the Las Vegas Valley has been that they aren't safe to ride. The RTC has announced plans to add 300 armed  security personel to the bus routes to make passengers feel more safe while riding. Personally I've never felt unsafe riding the bus, but apparently the commission felt it is a growing concern of passengers and is doing something about it.

Miscellaneous trivia about the "Deuce": Often I see people claim that the Deuce is called that because of the double decker buses, but it was known as the Deuce long before they used the double deckers. The original route number that went up and down the strip and to Fremont Street was number 302. Many affectionately started calling it the Deuce for short and it stuck. So much to the point that the RTC adopted it as the official name for the route. The double decker buses were added later.
